What is CrowdSecure?

CrowdSecurebeta is a cloud based intrusion reporting system that allows system administrators to report attempted attacks via a REST based reporting system. It was originally designed to be a distributed system to block SIP attacks on Asterisk servers, but has since been expanded to support the reporting of attacks against any network protocol.

Once attacks are reported, the system aggregates and scores the data, producing a "blacklist" of hosts with an associated score that can be used for various network security applications. For users running blogs or other web based services, the blacklist can be accessed in real time to determine if data (such as a blog comment) should be accepted.

The power of CrowdSecure comes from the ability to aggregate and score data from a large number of hosts, resulting in proactive network security decisions that are often better than could have been made by a single user.

Current Project Status

CrowdSecure is functionaly working on several production hosts as a reporting / blacklisting system, but we still need more users to start reporting data so we can continue to refine the scoring and lookup systems.

If you are interested in helping out, please signup and then look at the Reporting page for some easy to use reporting scripts that have already been developed.

We are also looking for people to assist with development, web design, and other aspects of this project. If you are interested in helping out, please email beta@crowdsecure.net
